Heiko E. Himmel

 

Walvis Bay-born Heiko E. Himmel

completed his undergraduate BSc (Arch) and is doing his Architecture Honours at the University of Pretoria, focusing on building and material ecology, landscape and heritage research at the University of Pretoria.

He has lectured part-time at the Namibia University of Science and Technology and has worked at Nina Maritz Architects in Windhoek. 

 

GREY WATER REUSE IN ARCHITECTURE

Grey Water Reuse has become a paramount concern in terms of water usage in buildings, particularly considering the water deficits  in the Namibian and African context. This presentation investigates the benefits and problems in Horizontal / Vertical Flow Constructed Wetlands as a possible solution for the built environment today.
